Considering the lowered cost of stock I am planning to gets my hands dirty in stock. But I don't have much knwoeldge about it. Also, by the time I find resouces to learn more about stock, the prices might ahve gone up.
So can anyone provide good online tools to know more about investing on stocks and buying stocks online...

I agree with the posters who say that the employer is probably trying to frighten you. It is very difficult to restrict a person's right to work wherever they want - or to restrict an employer hiring whoever they want - especially in Texas. However, it is not really an immigration question. You or, ideally the client company, should see an employment lawyer here in Texas.

For renewal they did not even ask me for any documentation. Renewed online, went to DMV and got it for 4 years.

If you have w-2's you just need to fill 1040NR-EZ and send it back to the requesting officer. I don't understand what is the problem in fill a form and signing it and sending in the copies of it... what difference does it make if it was filled in 1999 or 2008 as it will be the same thing.... if they have a problem ask them to verify it with IRS which I am sure they will not able to do as there is no way so they have to accept what you submit... just my $0.02.. ask your attorney about this...

Dear All,
We have applied for our 485 in August 07 with myself as Primary applicant and my wife as dependent. My wife later got her H1B in october but we haven't updated her status as H1b to USCIS in the 485 processing. Recently we moved to a new place and wanted to change the address online. I suppose I and my wife have to fill the Ar-11 form individually. When trying to fill for my wife, I got some questions.
Please clarify:
1. I am in the United States as a ___ (Should this blank be filled with H4 or H1B for my wife? If I say H1b will there be any problem as I added her to my GC process as a H4. Also, should her employer details be given in the form?
2. Copy number from Alien card? Is this the I-94 number or passport number or alien number on the finger printing sheet?
3. If not a permanent resident, my stay in US expires on ____ (Should this be the same date as her H1B end date?)
I really appreciate any help on these questions at the earliest. It will be 10th day tomm. after moving into new place and I just noticed that the form ar-11 says that USCIS must be notified of address change within 10 days of moving.

I have not looked around for last few years to see who gives the highest rate. There may be some difference of few paisa per dollar, but if you ignore that, ICICI money transfer is good. I am using it for many years.

her priority date is march 2005 .and they filed for AoS on july 2nd.Her due date is november of this year. I am guessingt hat their 485 will not be approved november of this year.So, they can bring the child on h4 into the country. but then if their 485 gets approved in a year of 18 months-- what happens to the child? Thank you so much for all your advice. I will let them know immediately. However, I have one more question. Is it better to apply the visa from a computer in Indonesia compare to I help them apply from my computer in the US or it really doesn't matter? I'm not sure if the embassy tracks IP address or probably has something against it. Just a thought because we're very careful not to mess it up.

The bill was introduced by Senator Cornyn and cosponsors include Senators Allard (R-CO), Bennett (R-UT), Hutchison (R-TX), and Lott (R-MS). As readers of this blog may be aware, Sen. But the letter doesn't seem to address the direct behaviour of the companies in question. Seems like a bunch of broader level issues were tackled - while true, it doesn't address H1B abuse in any way. Wasn't that the point?
I'm sure that is not addressed in this letter because from their POV there is no abuse.
The Senators are convieniently overlooking the fact that they need to get deadbeat departments like the DOL and USCIS to shape up. And where is their concern for the American worker when they make these departments process massive loads of illegals without providing additional funding?

Ok, since immigration is taking a back seat because of the IRAQ war, please explain how does it make him a wonderful president? He is responsible for so many lives bc of the war. If he did not spend billions of tax payer money on iraq, when there were no weapons of mass distruction and/or saddam was not an imminent danger to the united states, don't you think we would have better use of our tax payer's dollars.
Just beacuse he is pro immigration does not make him the best president (he cannot pass the bill on his own u know, eventhough "he is the decider"). What is the point he can be pro immigration for all people care but his republican party is not too thrilled with him and will not pass an amnesty bill. What has he done for the enviornment? He believes that there is nothing called global warming. So please just because he is pro-illegals, pro free trade does not qualify him as the best president.
Bush is for immigration reform.
I see people disliking him, but to be fair to him, that man had some very good ideas when he became the president. He was unlucky that 9-11 happened when he was just 9 months into presidency and inexperienced, but his response was good, and it was wrong for him to go into Iraq as the reasons were all wrong. That was a huge mistake, probably in-expereince, wrong advisors, oil lobby, and some of the fear from 9-11, all contributed to that decision.
Overall, he has done more in terms of changing things, and has started debates on more controversial issues than anyone before. He has done more for the world trade, es[ecially countries like India, China and Brazil. He has gone beyond racial and gender factors, as reflected in choice of his staff and advisors.
Debates have to be started before anything happens and sometime it takes years, even after the presidency is over.
It's easy to blame him for everything as he is the face we see. I am not a Bush supporter, but actually a huge Clinton fan, but I think we tend to be overly unfair to the man. He has an office that comes with blames, sometimes decisions are not easy and you could go wrong either way. I think he tends to err on side of doing more than less, while Clinton was opposite and kept things stable, but also didnot start changes or lay grounds for change to take place.
As a president I think he has probably done more, or sets things in motion, more than Clinton did. Sometimes things need changing, and initial in-stability goes with the change.

The AC21 requires you to have the new employer sign the AC21. What if the employer refuses to sign..??
Also does anyone have the exact wording they sent to USCIS with the AC21 letter
There is no standard legal forms to file for AC21. So, I don't think employer needs to sign anything unless you were talking about the offer letter (which would obviously be signed by both employer and employee).

Folks, wanted to share the feedback from my immigration attorney, the attorney office which did my h1b, h4, eb3 etc, it is a pretty big firm and has good reputation.
The attorney clearly told me, that as long as there is no salary and if it is volunteering then we can go ahead whether it is profit making or non-profit it does not matter.
Now im still confused what do i do......
to be on safer side i may suggest going for non-profit org.
