I think you need to do a reality check on your leadership and mobilizing skills. The reason you cant find even 10 people who support your ideas should tell you something. You have to convince people who oppose your ideas in a logical way, so they see some sense in what you are trying to achieve. If you cannot convince people who oppose you with logical answers you wont find much support as a community from IV. I think people like eb3_nepa have every right to question your actions and intentions and if you cannot respond to healthy dialogue, dont expect people to support your cause. You have to give respect to gain respect.
I personally support your cause about FIFO processing but you need to broaden it beyond EB2 to the entire EB community. I just called USCIS. The woman was polite but she told me there is nothing she can tell me since it is still within 90 days and she cannot tell me the receipt number. :mad:

I did not call them to get the RNs but I got the I-485 checks cashed for my wife and me.
The checks for I-485 for my daughter and the checks for AP and EAD were not cashed though.
But again, looks like, July 3rd 9:03 received by R. Williams, is no more a MIA case.

My situation is similar too.
The employer is not ready to file the 485, thinking that I may leave the company after 6 months.
I have the I-140 receipt notice , but no approval notice.
There is no way he is going to issue a employment letter , still debating my options.

The President swiftly signed this bill yesterday so that operation of the federal government be not negatively affected nor disrupted. None of immigration-related bills was apparently attached to this bill. When the new Congress returns on January 4, 2007, one of the top agenda will remain pending appropriation bills for various federal departments and agencies, which they should take care of by February 15, 2007. There is a chance that some immigration legislations such as H-1B relief can still be attached to one of these appropriation bills. People may recall that when the Senate-passed S.1932 died not too long past for its failure to pass the House, the H-1B and L-1 Reform Acts were introduced by Rep. Lamar Smith (TX) and the Congress easily passed the bill as a rider to the Omnibus Spending bill! Considering the fact that the business and academic communities can feel urgency more tangibly in the H-1B crisis as an imminent issue affecting their businesses "here and now," as opposed to EB immigrant issue which may be considered a long-term issue, the negative impact of which may be not necessarily imminently visible and tangible as relaed to their businesses "here and now." We'll find other things to worry about after the GC. However, I think a focus on learning/self improvement, health (exercise and meditation should go a long way..although i haven't really spent as much time as i should on this) and most importantly on financial objectives should help.
Most of us are here to secure our financial futures. Focus on good investing practices, learning how to invest both your money and in yourself. The worst thing we can do is to be paralyzed in thought and action by USCIS processes.

Per my lawyer,
1. USCIS does not mandate that you must inform when you invoke AC21. You can inform them if and when you get RFE.
2. I strongly believe that we should not accept job offers that is not related to the job you originally applied for. My lawyer says it is usually vague and if USCIS determines other wise I will be in trouble. And for the same reason I am hesitant to accept very good employee offer from my current client.
3. Self employment is ok as long as the requirements are met and that is what is I am doing now.

I will give you a sincere and useful suggestion, that hopefully will be valid to others as well. Please refrain from pulling the race card on people talking about immigration. That makes you look emotional, character assassin and worse, that can make people perceive you as a racist yourself. That is the failed tactics used by illegal aliens and uneducated people when confronted with the reality that their attitude and posture is irrational. As far as I can tell, NumbersUSA objects against Irish people who came here illegally. Therefore I do not see any correlation between racial profiling there as you seem to persist. I am not here to defend NumbersUSA or Lou Dobbs. I am just here to remind you that if we continue following the rationale "us vs them" and doing character assassination, we will undeniably face rough opposition and struggle to get what we deserve.

Anyway, moving forward...It will be nice to make a list of desirable points in a bill that is independent of any cause for illegal immigrants. I will start with two points. You can add more if you like. If there is enough momentum and support for these points, then in a truly democratic environment, we may want to modify the core IV goals to reflect that (Ideally I would prefer that there be a vote for what should be the core goals...after all most people here have contributed something towards the cause...and only those who have contributed should be allowed to vote...no free lunch).
1. Allow people to file for 485 and get EAD even if visa numbers are not available
2. Allow EAD to be FULLY portable without restrictons (i.e., irrespective of job description or job title or job location or salary).
The above two dont ask for sweeping changes in immigration laws such as increase visa numbers etc. etc. and are easy for the average American person to understand. And so can hopefuly be passed easily.
With the above two passed, I dont think many people will complain if it takes another 5 years to get their GC. Agree?
By the way, I have got my EAD card and my PD is also current. So the above two goals will be redundant for me. My story is that I am stuck in FBI namecheck. But the moderators have already indicated that it cant be one of the core goals. So I would not list that even if I would like that to be one of the core goals.

I just responded to some ignorant comments by some people. I have been to India and hope to go back, and have many great friends from there. Some do not like Porting; some do not like Spillover allocation. And some do not like the interfiling. Remember, interfiling is like porting too.
Porting is the law right now. It is not easy to change the law these days.
Even if the law is modified, people who already started the porting process will be grandfathered. Thousands of porting application will be filed before the modified law become effective. That is what happened during PERM introduciton.

I directly got the Approval notice e-mail on the 4th - I also got the approval notice this week - I-797C -i.e Monday - but no cards as yet ?:confused:
I did not get welcome notice nor did I get the CPO mail.
